Your Future TeamAs part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws. This position is a member of our San Angelo regional staff.
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing- Perform routine technical work in the field of air, water, or waste pollution for the San Angelo Regional Office of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
- Conduct technical inspections, surveys, and follow‑up investigations; prepare reports which document field activities and observed conditions.
- Conduct environmental monitoring; and prepare technical papers regarding studies involving environmental subjects.
- Provide technical assistance to the public, regulated community, and other interested groups regarding the application of appropriate regulations.
- Assist with collecting and analyzing environmental samples.
- Experience interpreting rules, regulations, policies, or procedures.
- Experience conducting inspections or investigations.
- Experience collecting environmental samples.
- Experience interacting with the public, media, and/or regulated community; providing technical and/or non‑technical information.
- Experience working with environmental issues, specifically water supply system issues.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field; or four (4) years of full‑time experience in the field of environmental activities directly related to the examples of work performed.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.
WorkSchedule
Standard business hours are M–F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ San Angelo Regional Office.
