Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Outpatient

We are seeking an energetic and patient-focused Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a busy outpatient therapy clinic. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload including orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, and upper extremity diagnoses in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.

The COTA will provide skilled treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, helping patients improve function, mobility, coordination, and independence in daily activities. The ideal candidate thrives in an active setting and enjoys building strong rapport with patients across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising OT

  • Provide therapeutic exercises and activities targeting strength, ROM, coordination, and functional performance

  • Assist with upper extremity rehab including splinting support and fine motor retraining

  • Educate patients on home exercise programs and carryover strategies

  • Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT

  • Accurately document daily treatment sessions in EMR

  • Maintain clinic flow and productivity expectations

  • Collaborate with PTs, OTs, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Ideal Candidate:

  • Active COTA license in practicing state

  • Outpatient experience preferred (ortho or hands a plus)

  • Strong time management and communication skills

  • Comfortable managing a full schedule in a fast-paced clinic
