The Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) Cybersecurity Analyst position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on cybersecurity experience. The RSOC monitors security tools, analyzes potential threats, and determines the severity and urgency of each event.
The RSOC is located on campus at Angelo State University, and all work must be conducted on‑site. All required training will be provided, along with access to resources for continued education and certification preparation.
Responsibilities- Continuously monitoring security systems and alerts to identify potential threats and incidents.
- Assessing the severity and impact of incidents to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Conduct preliminary investigations to gather information and determine if a reported event is a genuine security incident.
- Creating and maintaining documentation related to incidents, including initial assessment findings, actions taken, and escalation details.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes.
- US Citizenship or Green Card required.
- Operating systems – knowledge of Windows, Linux, or macOS
- Networking – TCP/IP, network protocols, or common network security principals
- Cybersecurity – security tools such as SIEM, EDR, or IDS
Salary $13.00/hour
