The Lube Technician ensures that the overall auto maintenance and repair shop/store condition complies with company policies & procedures, and state & federal laws. This position is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, effective, safe and courteous quality auto maintenance and repair services to the guest. The role reports to the Lube Manager.

- Examine vehicles and confere with customers to determine if an oil change can be made.
- Drain motor oil, remove oil filter, replace oil filter and oil.
- Drain transmission fluid, remove filter, replace filter and transmission fluid.
- Repair minor windshield cracks.
- Refer customers with major vehicle repairs to another location.
- Adhere to company policies related to safety and security, looking for and eliminating safety hazards; report unsafe acts or conditions to management.
- Prepare required accident/incident reports; immediately report such activity to management.
- Follow policies and procedures to prevent loss of cash and merchandise due to employee, vendor or customer actions.
- Safeguard cash and merchandise by following robbery prevention and reaction procedures outlined in the Emergency Response and Reporting Procedures and Policy Manual.
- Maintain shop/store cleanliness and basic upkeep of all areas around the store, including gasoline islands.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Report to work on time and when scheduled.
Must be at least 18 years old to apply. High School diploma or GED is preferred. Minimum one year’s experience in a lube/tire/mechanic environment, or related experience, training and/or education. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrates sales and customer service skills; reads and interprets documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; writes routine reports and speaks effectively before customers and employees; performs arithmetic in all units of measure; exercises sound judgment and works with minimum supervision; has basic computer skills.
Physical Functions- Must stand and/or walk for a full shift.
Must bend at the waist, kneel, crouch or lie flat to change oil or repair windshield cracks. - Can occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to overhead, and/or 60 pounds from ground to waist level (e.g., stocking/maintaining inventory).
- Can push and pull with arms up to a force of 128 pounds (e.g., using a hand truck).
- May be required to climb a ladder or stool, kneel or crouch to store or retrieve materials or remove signs.
- Can grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands all day; requires eye‑hand coordination and may require bilateral coordination of hands for up to four hours of the workday.
- Approximately 95% of work is performed in the auto maintenance and repair shop, exposing employees to inclement weather, dust, fumes, etc.
- Work also takes place inside the store.
- Must use all equipment necessary for oil and transmission fluid changes, windshield repairs and other minor repairs: wrench, drain/catch pan, funnel, jack and jack stands, transmission flusher, screwdriver, etc.
- Must handle liquids and certain cleaning solvents.
- Committed to assigned hours and willing to adjust schedule as requested by manager.
- Must work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Stores operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
