Overview
At Office Depot, the Solutions Advisor is a full‑time role that provides “total solutions” to customers across Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print. The solutions advisor quickly builds and maintains customer relationships and becomes a trusted advisor using training on technology products/services and print offerings.
Primary Responsibilities- Proactively engage every customer to ensure a positive experience and use the selling program to promote solutions and additional products/services.
- Evaluate customer needs and determine appropriate additional offerings; refer customers to Contract Sales when appropriate.
- Provide exceptional customer service by educating customers on Office Depot products and services; coordinate assistance across the store.
- Perform cashier duties, logistics support, stocking, inventory control, store cleaning, and protect company assets.
- Continuously develop personal selling skills and specialized product knowledge through provided tools; drive technology, tech services, furniture, and print sales by supporting programs, new launches, and special initiatives.
- Train and coach new/existing associates on product and tool usage and on the selling program.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, practices, and loss‑prevention efforts.
- When not assisting customers, manage merchandise presentation, plan‑ogram updates, price changes, weekly ads and signage updates.
- Perform additional duties as assigned; for stores with co‑working, support the co‑working manager in operational execution.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum two years of experience in a related field and in sales/customer service.
- Ability to use technology and print equipment applicable to the role, and access information needed for daily tasks.
- Proficiency in processing information/merchandise through a POS register system.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of technology and print areas.
- Strong selling, interpersonal, and communication skills to establish relationships with customers.
- Adaptability to a changing environment.
- Capability to coach and train others professionally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; positive, engaging, action‑oriented, and integrity‑based.
- Demonstrated passion for the brand, products, services, and solutions offered.
- Desire to continually develop personal selling skills and product knowledge.
The salary range for this role is $10.30 to $11.30 per hour; all state and local minimum wages will be complied with. Eligible for the Retail Store Hourly Non‑Management Incentive program.
