Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

Walmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance duties for all commercial equipment to support Walmart stores. Responsibilities include developing preventive maintenance schedules and completing assigned PMs within the outlined timeframe, as well as conducting training for Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.

• Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment.
• Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality.
• Manage work orders and routine maintenance schedules by completing and providing required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs).
• Demonstrate strong customer service, communication, personal accountability, and time management.
• Adapt to changing and competing demands using solid judgment to prioritize tasks.
• Exercise servant leadership and work effectively as a team to achieve goals.

• Three years of experience in maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, or food equipment.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license held for at least 3 years with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Eligibility for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Vocational or technical certification, or 3 years of experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
• 5 years of experience in one of those trades is also acceptable.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
• License in a related trade in the city or state where the job is located.
• Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
