We are searching for the best talent for a Calibration Technician in San Angelo, TX.

This position is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment and the hourly rate is $28.34/hr

The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring continued support for all aspects of the site related to Calibrations operations. Lead the execution of equipment/instruments calibrations (as assigned). Support any calibration needs within the site.

Responsibilities:
  • Make critical decisions effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Document all equipment service activities, repairs, and modifications accurately within the Equipment Maintenance Logbook.
  • Work effectively to meet project deadlines and complete breakdown maintenance activities in a timely manner.
  • Maintain calibration records in a neat, accurate, and organized manner.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of instruments and instrument systems, including the ability to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and conduct recalibrations as required.
  • Perform emergency repairs, routine calibrations, preventive maintenance, and scheduled maintenance activities on instruments, components, and complete instrumented systems.
  • Utilize drawings, sketches, diagrams, tables, specifications, and technical handbooks to install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain instruments and instrumented systems.
  • Connect and disconnect electrical connections, pneumatic fittings, and hydraulic fittings associated with instruments and components within control loops.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve instrumentation-related issues to support reliable equipment operation.
  • Support the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of instrumented systems used in manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of skills, experience, or training required.
  • Knowledge of instrument-related drawings, diagrams, tables, specifications, and technical documentation required.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take a lead role in completing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical information and apply it to maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of technical school education, military training, or equivalent on-the-job training (OJT) in an instrumentation-related field preferred.
Additional Information
  • Must have good work habits, including neatness, organizational skills, and time management skills.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned, including work of a related nature.
  • This position will require candidates to take and pass the Work Keys Assessment.
  • The selected candidate will have to be amenable to a day shift schedule for 9 to 12 months for training and transition to night shift after training is completed.
