Lifeguard; Recreation Temp​/Seasonal

Position will be open until filled.

Multiple lifeguards to join our team and, under general supervision of the Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager, be responsible for supervision of swimming activities at the Municipal Pool. It is the responsibility of the lifeguard to maintain and order discipline among the patrons by enforcing pool rules and constantly watching the public for its safety while in the aquatic facility.

May assist in swim lessons.

• Serving as lifeguard and providing for the safety of swimmers.
• Explaining and enforcing pool rules and regulations.
• Administering First Aid and CPR to include the use of an AED.
• Preparing departmental records and reports.
• Participating in cleaning and maintaining pool facilities.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other staff, patron, and the general public.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.

• American Red Cross Lifeguard or Shallow Water Lifeguard certification required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.
• Reliable transportation is required or a valid driver license with a good driving record.

• Ability to perform strenuous duties for extended periods of time.
• Work in extreme weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Must be able to pass physical test(s).
