the Role

San Domenico School is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Front Desk Reception/Transportation Support professional. In this full-time role, you will serve as the first point of contact for our community, managing our main reception desk with professionalism while playing a key role in supporting the school’s transportation and operational functions.

This position is ideal for someone who excels at multitasking, thrives in a high-volume environment, and enjoys collaborating across departments to ensure both efficient front office operations and safe, reliable transportation services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Front Desk Reception:

  • Greet and assist all visitors, parents, and vendors professionally while managing the School's phone system.
  • Manage daily mail distribution and ensure guest compliance with check-in procedures.
  • Transportation Coordinator - work with the Director of Operations on:
  • Collaborate with the CFO and external vendors to optimize routes and capacity.
  • Oversee annual registration, including policy distribution and route updates.
  • Coordinate trial runs for new families and manage the Omnilert communication system for delays or updates.
  • Possible liaise between the bus company and the School community, maintaining an as needed phone for early morning communications.
  • Manage the field trip process, ensuring transportation is provided.

School Vehicles:

  • Oversee driver compliance, DMV record checks, and monitor vehicle use policy adherence.
  • Maintain logs and pertinent documentation for all School vehicles.
  • Manage volunteer and parent driver compliance, including Live Scan, TB clearance, and DMV records.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage parking, pool keys, and postage systems.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Prior experience in a front desk, reception, or administrative support role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Proven ability to provide professional, welcoming customer service in a high-volume, public-facing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask with patience and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and the ability to quickly master new school management or scheduling software.
  • Sound judgment and logical reasoning.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • High degree of autonomy and reliability.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accuracy in records and compliance with student safety protocols.
Compensation

The salary range for this non-exempt position is $30.00 – $37.50/hr placement within the range will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates with fewer years of experience can expect placement toward the lower end of the range. This position offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a matching 403(b) retirement plan, and daily lunch.
