Summer Camp - Extended Care/Friday Fun Fiesta Counselor

Temporary summer position for camp sessions for weeks of:
June 15-19, June 22-26, July 13-17, July 20-24, July 27-31

The San Domenico summer camp program offers children aged 4-18 a rich assortment of sports, academic, and enrichment programs, including art, music, digital art, film, and STEM-oriented programs. Our camps are located on San Domenico’s beautiful 515 acre campus in San Anselmo.

Extended Care Counselors will be present at the Summer Camp AM and/or PM Extended Care. AM Care hours are from 7:45 am-9:15 am and PM Care hours are from 3:15pm-5:15pm. Extended Care provides a safe place for students to land before and after their summer camp day, where students have the opportunity to free play, do crafts, read, or hang out with friends.

Friday Fun Fiesta Counselors will be present at Friday Fun Fiesta. Friday Fun Fiesta hours are from 8:30am-4:00pm on Fridays. Friday Fun Fiesta provides a safe place for students whose camp does not participate on Friday, where students have the opportunity to play in structured activities, do crafts, explore the campus, read, swim, or hang out with friends.

This is a part-time, seasonal position that reports to the Director of Auxiliary Services.

• Actively supervise students in Extended Care/Friday Fun Day
• Communicate with families and students participating in Extended Care/Friday Fun Day
• Manage Extended Care/Friday Fun Day central spaces i.e., Chase Field blue blocks, playground area, and classroom
• Escort children to summer camp locations in the AM
• Pick-up children from their summer camp locations in the PM
• Monitor supplies inventory and communicate with Director of Auxiliary Services what supplies are needed
• Work closely with staff to ensure a nurturing, safe and productive social, emotional and academic environment
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ years of child care experience
• Must be 18 years or older
• Experience interacting and communicating regularly with parents of students in all types of situations that arise in a school setting
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Other duties as assigned

The hourly range for this position is: $/hour. This position is nonexempt, which is eligible for paid overtime in accordance with applicable state and federal law. Final placement within this range is commensurate with a candidate’s specific experience and qualifications; typically, those with fewer years of experience can expect placement toward the lower end of the scale. As a temporary summer employee, this position is ineligible for most school benefits.
