Summer Camp - Wild Camp Counselor

Temporary summer position for camp sessions for weeks of:
July 20-24 & July 27-31

The San Domenico summer camp program offers children aged 4-18 a rich assortment of sports, academic, and enrichment programs, including art, music, digital art, film, and STEM-oriented programs. Our camps are located on San Domenico’s beautiful 515 acre campus in San Anselmo.

Get Wild Camp is a wildlife ecology camp for students ages 4-7 and 8-10. Get Wild Camp is a camp for students who love animals. Students will explore and study the local animals that live on and around the San Domenico Campus, as well as our local marine wildlife. Students also participate in crafts, outdoor play, and pool use.

This is a part-time, seasonal position that reports to the Director of Auxiliary Services.

• Set up for each day
• Supervise campers from arrival to dismissal
• Guide hikes, nature journaling, crafting, and swimming
• Communicate with Camp Director and Instructor about any student needs or concerns
• Work with Camp Director, Instructor, and Counselors-in-Training (CITs) to effectively support campers
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

• 1+ years of child care experience
• Experience working with Elementary School children
• Enjoy animals and nature, and be comfortable with outdoor education
• Must be 18 years or older
• Experience interacting and communicating regularly with parents of students in all types of situations that arise in a school setting
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments in accordance with established guidelines and standard practices.
• Additional duties as assigned

8:30am - 4:00pm Monday-Friday

The hourly range for this position is: $/hour. This position is nonexempt, which is eligible for paid overtime in accordance with applicable state and federal law. Final placement within this range is commensurate with a candidate’s specific experience and qualifications; typically, those with fewer years of experience can expect placement toward the lower end of the scale. As a temporary summer employee, this position is ineligible for most school benefits.
