HCM™ is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist
. The company is a well-established, San Antonio–based commercial landscaping and construction services organization supporting large-scale field operations and subcontractor-driven projects. Known for its strong regional presence and operational focus, the company offers a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment where accounting directly supports subcontractors, vendors, and ongoing project work. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to manage high-volume invoice processing, subcontractor and vendor payments, recurring check runs, and strict calendar-driven deadlines within a construction-oriented environment.

• Process accounts payable invoices daily
• Reconcile company credit cards monthly
• Process subcontractor and contractor payments in alignment with project schedules and established payment cycles
• Execute recurring vendor check runs in accordance with strict payment calendars
• Handle weekly utility and office expense check runs
• Process employee reimbursements weekly
• Balance accounts payable for month-end close
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
• Set up new vendors in the system
• Manage company cell phone accounts and fuel card accounts
• Coordinate toll tag setup and related administrative tracking
• Support maintenance department badge processing and access coordination
• Purchase general office and IT supplies and assist with light office/IT support
• Work closely with the Controller and Accounting Director to support additional accounting tasks as needed

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within construction, landscaping, or subcontractor-driven environments
• Experience handling high-volume invoice processing
• Comfortable managing recurring payment cycles and check runs in a deadline-driven accounting calendar environment; meeting payment and close deadlines is critical
• Experience with subcontractor or contractor-related payments
• Experience reconciling credit cards and supporting month-end AP close
• Proficient in Excel
• Ability to work fully in-office during standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm) in Northwest San Antonio

• Familiarity with Computer Ease
• Experience supporting project-based or draw-based payment environments
• Experience managing fleet-related accounts such as fuel cards or mobile accounts
• Familiarity with ERP or mid-market accounting systems
