Staff Accountant - Hybrid SA

Compensation: $59,000-$69,000 DOE

My client is looking for a Staff Accountant to serve as a key partner to join their growing Property Development Team by owning the accounting and financial reporting for active projects from pre-development through closeout. This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys digging into details, understanding how projects are built financially, and turning data into clear, actionable insights.

• Take ownership of project-level general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the proper period.
• Prepare and analyze monthly project financials, highlighting variances, trends, and items that require further discussion.
• Partner with development and operations teams to understand project activity and resolve accounting questions.
• Perform budget vs. actual analysis and provide clear explanations for changes in costs and timing.
• Support month-end close by preparing accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Track project costs, commitments, and funding sources to ensure alignment with budgets and financing structures.
• Assist with construction draws, pay applications, and lender reporting requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a must.
• 2+ years of Full Cycle Accounting Experience.
• Comfortable working in Excel and building / maintaining schedules.
• Real Estate or Construction environments is a plus.
