Responsibilities:

  • In this role, the Payroll Specialist will be assisting with multiple facets of the payroll process for weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll in a multi-state, multiple-entity environment
  • Pay inputs including garnishments/withholding orders, time and attendance, LOA, auditing, file uploads, payroll calculations, ACH returns, tax adjustments, payroll printing and distribution, union reporting
  • Heavy auditing of payroll reports to verify data and a keen awareness to recognize payroll issues/errors
  • Accurately and timely process multi-state payroll
  • Trouble shooting payroll issues including time entry
  • The Payroll Specialist will assist with payroll related questions from employees, markets and functionally related departments;
    Heavy interaction with HRIS and HRIT
  • Transmit files including garnishments, ACH, and positive pay
  • Process off-cycle checks and special pay runs
  • Receive and Distribute AP checks to Garnishment Vendors along with any backup documentation required
  • As a Payroll Specialist, this role will assist with special projects including software updates

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years of related experience with Payroll and Garnishments
  • Payroll/Union payroll experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, principles, and regulations including California
  • Knowledge of Garnishment regulatory requirements
  • In-house payroll experience preferred
  • Workday experience preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
