Accountant, Accounting Assistant

HCM is looking for a part‑time Accountant to join their accounting department.

This role will work closely with the Controller to assist with day‑to‑day accounting tasks, job costing, and special projects.

• Assist with work‑in‑process (WIP) accounting, including tracking job progress and associated costs
• Perform job costing and support construction‑related accounting activities
• Support vendor management, including coordination and communication related to invoices and accounts payable
• Provide general accounting assistance to the Controller, including tasks and projects as delegated
• Assist with special accounting or finance projects as needed
• Complete miscellaneous accounting and administrative tasks to support overall department efficiency

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Ability to work independently and handle shifting priorities

• Prior experience in construction or project‑based accounting
• Familiarity with Deltek (Del Tech) accounting software
• Experience with job costing and WIP reporting

• Can work any 3 days of the week
• Fully remote option after initial training period
