Position SummaryThe Department of Accounting at the Carlos Alvarez College of Business seeks qualified part‑time, fixed‑term track (FTT) lecturers to teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses beginning Fall 2026. Courses include Principles of Accounting I & II, intermediate accounting, accounting information systems, cost accounting, federal income taxation, auditing, and other relevant subjects.

Applicants must be able to teach locally on the main campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio in San Antonio.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that it meets department and college standards.
- Plan and create lectures, in‑class discussions, and assignments.
- Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
- Assist/mentor students as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in accounting or a related discipline, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in accounting.
- At least five years of teaching and/or work experience in accounting, tax, or audit.
- Ability to teach locally on the San Antonio campus.
- Commitment to maintaining the security and integrity of university systems.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, or Enrolled Agent.
- Doctoral degree in accounting, tax or a related field.
- Current curriculum vitae
- Contact information for at least three professional references
- A teaching statement
- A letter of interest describing professional experience in accounting.
Selected candidates will undergo a background check and must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
