Overview
Join Cherry Bekaert’s growing Audit practice in San Antonio as a Senior Associate focused on Not-for-Profit clients, where you’ll play a key role in supporting mission‑driven organizations that make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Responsibilities- Lead audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and quality across deliverables.
- Develop and execute audit approaches tailored to Not‑for‑Profit organizations, including consideration of unique compliance and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Managers and Partners to identify engagement risks, improve processes, and deliver value to clients.
- Oversee and guide audit staff throughout engagements, including reviewing work and providing real‑time feedback.
- Prepare and/or review financial statements and related disclosures.
- Complete general audit procedures such as client communications, resolving open items, and coordinating audit close activities.
- Research and apply accounting and auditing guidance to complex or nonprofit‑specific transactions.
- Build strong relationships with clients and serve as a trusted resource throughout the audit process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and sharing leading practices with the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2+ years of public accounting experience, preferably with exposure to Not‑for‑Profit clients.
- Passion for delivering exceptional client service and supporting mission‑driven organizations.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
- Solid understanding of audit methodologies and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
