Role Description

The Controller is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, and payroll processing. The Controller prepares and reviews financial statements, manages budgeting and forecasting, and ensures compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include monitoring project costs, collaborating with project managers and senior leadership on financial performance, and maintaining internal controls and policies.

The Controller also supervises and mentors accounting staff, supports audits, and provides financial analysis and reporting to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in general accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting, with a solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision‑making and project evaluation.
  • Skill in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and payroll processes in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures.
  • Advanced skills in accounting and ERP software (e.g., Sage, or similar) and strong Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supervising accounting teams, mentoring staff, and collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in construction, real‑estate development, or property management accounting is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a detail‑oriented and ethical approach to financial management.
