Construction Accountant

Construction Accountant | Specialty Subcontractor | San Antonio

We are pleased to be exclusively partnered with a well established subcontractor to recruit an experienced Construction Accountant in the San Antonio area, in a role that will encompass project accounting and financial operations.

Role Overview

You'll serve as the financial bridge between Project Managers/Estimators and General Contractors, ensuring timely progress billings, strict contract compliance, accurate job costing, and healthy cash flow management.

Typical Duties

• Prepare and submit AIA pay applications.
• Track accounts receivable and issue lien waivers.
• Maintain the WIP schedule and track over/under billings.
• Match and code vendor invoices to job cost accounts.
• Process payroll for job sites.
• Complete month end reconciliations and journal entries.

Required Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Administration (or equivalent years of hands-on construction accounting experience).
• 3+ years of recent, dedicated construction accounting experience, specifically within a trade subcontractor or specialty contractor environment.
• Solid understanding of AIA billing, lien release forms, job cost accounting, WIP schedules, retainage and revenue recognition.
• Hands on experience with construction management and accounting platforms such as Sage 300 or Quick Books.
• Familiarity with GC billing portals such as Textura, Procore, GC Pay.
• Advanced Excel skillset.

Package

• Starting base salary of $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience.
