Insight Global is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support a growing construction-focused client. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, leading month-end close activities, and ensuring the integrity of project and corporate financial reporting. The role blends traditional accounting responsibilities with construction-specific accounting functions, including job costing, WIP analysis, cost allocations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong construction accounting experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys partnering with operations and project teams to improve financial visibility and business performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting OR 10+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong experience with journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Experience with accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and fixed asset accounting
- Ability to review and analyze loan amortization schedules
- Construction accounting experience with job costing, cost allocation, and WIP accounting
Day-to-Day:
- Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, prepaids, and adjusting entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Manage bank and credit card reconciliations while monitoring cash activity
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation
- Analyze loan amortization schedules and support debt-related accounting activities
- Review job cost allocations, monitor WIP schedules, and ensure project cost accuracy
- Partner with project managers and operations teams to support job cost reporting and cost analysis
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed
- Analyze financial results, explain variances, and contribute to financial reporting packages for leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
