A well-established public accounting firm in San Antonio, TX is seeking an experienced CPA to join the team in a long-term leadership capacity.

This is an opportunity for an established public accounting professional who is comfortable managing client relationships, overseeing staff, and taking ownership of a portfolio of clients.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical tax experience combined with the ability to operate independently, maintain trusted client relationships, and provide leadership to the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a portfolio of established tax clients
• Serve as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor to clients
• Oversee the preparation and review of individual and business tax returns
• Provide tax planning and advisory services
• Review work prepared by staff and senior-level accountants
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting and tax staff
• Research and resolve complex tax issues
• Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
• Manage client deadlines, workflow, and engagement responsibilities
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships

Ideal Background

• Active CPA license
• Strong public accounting experience
• Established track record managing client relationships
• Significant individual and business tax experience
• Previous experience supervising or managing staff
• Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of client engagements

Compensation

The compensation structure combines a base salary with billable-hour earnings, providing the opportunity to reach approximately very high level total annual compensation, depending on billable production.
