Senior Accountant

Join a leading private aviation company as a Senior Accountant in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you’ll play an important part in the Accounting & Finance team, supporting financial reporting, revenue recognition, cash management, and month-end close activities.

• Analyze flight-trip costs, including direct and operational expenses.
• Conduct revenue and profitability analysis and investigate significant variances.
• Manage revenue recognition accounting, including unearned and deferred revenue and trip completion analysis.
• Prepare bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and supporting schedules for the CFO.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and support liquidity and cash management activities.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements, including aviation-related tax regulations.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Accounting, and Inventory Accounting.
• Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with revenue recognition and unearned/deferred revenue.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet monthly deadlines.
• Willingness to work full-time,
  in-office in San Antonio, Texas, Monday through Friday

• Experience in aviation, transportation, or a related industry.
• Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience with Quick Books Online or similar ERP systems.
• Experience with tax compliance and internal controls.
• Experience using data tools or automation to improve accounting processes.
