Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 (San Antonio) | BDO USA
The Tone:This is an internship position at BDO USA, located in San Antonio, Texas. BDO is an organization that provides assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients across the U.S. and globally. This role is vital for energetic self-starters to begin applying their educational background in a practical setting within the firm’s dynamic client base. Interns will gain hands‑on experience, learn the firm’s practices, and build foundational relationships critical for a successful career in assurance.

Internship - Location:
In-person, San Antonio, TX - Pay: $32–$45 hourly
- Team:
Assurance practice, working with more experienced team members - Mission:
Assist in problem-solving and fact-finding for the firm’s clients. - Tech Stack:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Training:
Participate in structured on-the-job training to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). - Methodology:
Learn BDO’s specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process. - Support:
Provide diverse support functions to the audit staff during client engagements. - Communication:
Communicate with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues. - Documentation:
Prepare and document work in working papers using BDO-specific tools and templates.
- Background:
Entry-Level position. Requires enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting. - Experience:
No specific years of experience are required for this role. - Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Bonus:
Pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting, leadership experience, actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to follow instructions, ability to work effectively in a team setting, and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
