Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a critical role in managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely processing of invoices, and maintaining compliance with financial policies. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a shared services background who thrives in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process and code invoices accurately while resolving any discrepancies or exceptions.

- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

- Oversee payment cycles, including check runs and electronic disbursements.

- Reconcile vendor statements and address outstanding issues promptly.

- Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and external vendors.

- Handle past-due notices, utility disconnect alerts, and other time-sensitive matters.

- Manage interface batch files and support Workday Financials operations.

- Assist with the month-end closing process and other accounting tasks as required.

- Support the 1099 reconciliation process and ensure accurate reporting.

- Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned. Requirements - Associate's degree or equivalent certification from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.

- Minimum of 3 years of high-volume accounts payable experience in a corporate or shared services environment.

- Proficiency in Workday Financials or other ERP systems is highly desirable.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, including formulas and formatting.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster collaboration and resolve issues.

- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and problem-solving capabilities.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
