Overview

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant (Basic) who provides essential clerical and front-desk support for a public transportation organization. This role is responsible for handling routine administrative tasks, supporting daily office operations, and serving as a first point of contact for visitors and callers. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing a variety of general office duties in a fast-paced environment.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 1-4 years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience
  • Experience answering and routing multi-line phone systems
  • Experience with data entry, filing, and document organization
  • Basic experience using office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and fax machines
  • Ability to perform typing and general computer tasks accurately
Experience Preferences
  • Experience working in a government, public agency, or transportation-related environment
  • Customer service or front-desk/receptionist experience
  • Experience handling mail distribution and document management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (files, office supplies)
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, filing, and operating office equipment
  • Ability to bend, reach, and walk within an office environment
  • Adequate vision and hearing to perform clerical tasks and interact with staff and the public

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Coursework or certification in office administration, business administration, or clerical studies
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field
