Overview
The US Oncology Network is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at Texas Oncology
. This full‑time position will support the Oncology Department at our 5206 Research Drive clinic in San Antonio, Texas. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Greets patients, checks them in, and informs clinical staff of arrivals.
- Provides, collects, and files paperwork, updates demographics and insurance information, collects co‑pays and provides receipts.
- Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes calls, pages personnel, and communicates messages accurately and timely.
- Checks patients out after examination, schedules return appointments, and provides appointment details.
- Records cancellations and missed appointments, reschedules, and notifies staff.
- Performs general administrative support: filing, maintaining lobby area, keeping office supplies stocked.
- Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Level 1
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
- Must successfully complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of starting the position.
Level 2 (includes Level 1 requirements)
- At least 18 months front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
- Knowledge of daily routines and scheduling a plus.
Level Sr (includes Level 1 and 2 requirements)
- At least 5 years front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
Employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds. Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
Work EnvironmentWork requires frequent interaction with patients and staff in a clinic setting.
