Overview

The US Oncology Network is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at Texas Oncology
. This full‑time position will support the Oncology Department at our 5206 Research Drive clinic in San Antonio, Texas. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Greets patients, checks them in, and informs clinical staff of arrivals.
  • Provides, collects, and files paperwork, updates demographics and insurance information, collects co‑pays and provides receipts.
  • Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes calls, pages personnel, and communicates messages accurately and timely.
  • Checks patients out after examination, schedules return appointments, and provides appointment details.
  • Records cancellations and missed appointments, reschedules, and notifies staff.
  • Performs general administrative support: filing, maintaining lobby area, keeping office supplies stocked.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications

Level 1

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
  • Must successfully complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of starting the position.

Level 2 (includes Level 1 requirements)

  • At least 18 months front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
  • Knowledge of daily routines and scheduling a plus.

Level Sr (includes Level 1 and 2 requirements)

  • At least 5 years front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
Physical Demands

Employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds. Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.

Work Environment

Work requires frequent interaction with patients and staff in a clinic setting.
