Who We Are:
With almost 70 years of experience as an independent research, development, and evaluation laboratory for fuels and lubricants, we are well qualified to tackle challenges affecting marine vessels and locomotives, trucks and automobiles, and even hand-held power tools. Objectives of this Role:
Receive, assign lab numbers, store, retrieve and dump lubricant samples received in our department from internal and outside clients. Requires handling fuel and lubricant samples. Shift work, weekend work and adjusted schedules are required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Login samples into the LIMS system. Assist in maintaining bar-code system for sample custody. Download bar-code scanner into database. Help generate bar code for new samples. Communicate with Coordinators for instructions on samples without worksheets. Enter information into a PC database and store samples on shelves. Maintain files of running worksheets. Keep carts clear of samples. Maintain storage bins in login area.
Locate and retrieve samples for technical staff as needed. Return samples to storage bins after testing and keep bins organized and clean. Relocate samples to long-term storage and dispose of samples according to procedure. Keep ample supplies on hand such as barcode numbers, hazard stickers, and two-ounce containers. Use company truck to pick up samples at other labs several times a day.
Assist in other tasks as directed. Answer phone in absence of receptionist. Other duties as assigned. Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Shift work required. 2-4 years:
Must be proficient entering data into a PC database. Experience in using fax machines, reproduction equipment, computers for data input, and telephone systems is helpful. Ability to exercise good judgement and to set priorities, and follow instructions. Good attention to detail, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must have ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in an office environment. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
