The Cashier is responsible for processing all remittances received in the mail and from all locations, preparing and making deposits and payment processing files, and distributing all other mail appropriately.
Job Responsibilities- Employee must adhere to STRG Policies and Procedures at all times
- Open, sort, stampand distribute mail as backup for front desk receptionist
- Sort payments from both insurance and patients into the proper classes
- Scan and make electronic files for EOBs and deposits
- Process Remote Capture for both companies
- Accurately determine deposit totals for each deposit
- Open facility deposit bags, sort and compile by payment types
- Retrieve and upload all receipts
- Process credit card payments
- Reconcile all return items and ensure that they are posted to patients’ accounts
- Retrieve accounts for checks that come without patient information to determine if they need to be deposited or returned
- Reconcile all payments received from facilities to our Database using multiple Google sheets and bank files
- Balance all incoming cash and ensure all cash receipts are accounted for
- Retrieve EOBS, payment information, etc. from various websites
- Scan documents as needed
- Box and label completed batch records
- Complete document shredding when necessary
- Reconcile Checks from Medinformatix and Imagine One to checks deposited for both companies
- Maintain confidentiality of patient protected health information (PHI) as mandated by STRG procedures and HIPAA Privacy, Security, and HITECH regulations
- Perform other duties as required

Experience / Skill RequirementsFormal training which will probably be indicated by high school diploma or equivalent; basic understanding of arithmetic concepts; ability to operate PC equipment, 10-key by touch; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; training in a medical environment.
EducationHigh School Diploma or GED
Maintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements is an essential function of this position, including working all full-time regular hours as established for this position and scheduled or emergency overtime. Full-time regular hours are defined as Monday through Friday, with after-hours or weekends as required. All employees in this job classification are required to satisfy this requirement. This job classification does not include "light duty" work or allow unpredictable or unrestricted absences.
