Healthcare Administration, Medical Receptionist
As a Medical Office Clerk, you'll provide appointment scheduling, medical records, reception, and administrative support within an onsite military healthcare environment in San Antonio. You'll assist patients and visitors, coordinate primary and specialty care appointments, verify eligibility, and help ensure accurate records and requested documentation are available for patient care.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.
-3:30 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid meal break. Federal holidays off; no evenings, nights, on-call coverage, or overtime.
- $15.74-$17.49 USD per hour
- Health & Welfare (H&W):
Up to $5.09 per hour, in accordance with the Service Contract Act (SCA).
- Welcome patients and visitors, answer incoming calls, route inquiries, and take messages
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel primary, specialty, subspecialty, consult, and referral appointments; verify patient eligibility and provide general instructions or direct patients to the appropriate service
- Create appointment schedules and templates in CHCS/AHLTA or MHS GENESIS, work with DEERS eligibility information, and resolve pending or delinquent appointments at the end of the business day
- Process and maintain inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory procedure records; initiate, locate, update, and file records while ensuring required documentation is available before appointments
- Organize and research patient records, extract required data, and review records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency in accordance with regulatory requirements and established military medical-record procedures
- High school diploma or GED
- At least six months of experience in an office setting
- Ability to type at least 50 words per minute
- General administrative and clerical skills, including receptionist and telephone responsibilities
- Knowledge of medical ethics and telephone etiquette, with effective written and verbal communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology
