About the RoleWe are recruiting for a Category Manager to join a fast-growing, consumer-focused CPG company. This role is strategically positioned within Sales to partner with major retail customers across Grocery, Club, Mass, and Dollar channels.
The Category Manager will leverage syndicated data, POS insights, and space planning expertise to drive category growth, optimize merchandising, and deliver actionable insights that strengthen retailer partnerships. This is a high-visibility, hands‑on role ideal for someone who excels at turning data into compelling business strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze POS, syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana/IRI, Numerator), and retail trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop insight‑driven selling stories for retailer partners that translate data into actionable strategies.
- Plan and execute assortment reviews, planograms, and merchandising recommendations.
- Support Customer Development Managers and Directors in preparing business reviews, line reviews, and strategic presentations.
- Monitor category performance, promotional ROI, and distribution to inform retailer recommendations.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Insights, R&D, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Stay current on market trends, shopper behavior, and competitive activity to inform category strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in CPG category management, business analytics, or shopper insights
. - Experience working with National and Regional Grocery, Club, Mass, or Dollar channels
. - Proficiency in syndicated data tools (Nielsen, Circana/IRI, Numerator, 1010data, or retailer POS systems).
- Hands‑on experience with space planning software (JDA/Blue Yonder or equivalent).
- Strong storytelling and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Leading category reviews, joint business planning, or promotional planning with retailers.
- Exposure to multiple food categories within Grocery, Club, Mass, or Dollar channels.
- Experience creating dashboards and reporting tools to support sales and category teams.
