Job Summary
The Inventory Control Lead owns the end to end inventory control process across all Stratus internal manufacturing sites, as well as Stratus owned inventory stored at third party warehouses. This role serves as the enterprise owner of inventory accuracy, controls, and governance—ensuring alignment between physical inventory, ERP data, and financial records.
The position partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Finance to support inventory accuracy, material flow, BOM integrity, and month end/year end financial close. Success in this role requires a detail oriented, proactive leader with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement in inventory control processes and systems.
Duties and Responsibilities Inventory Ownership & Governance- Own and standardize inventory control processes across all internal manufacturing sites to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for inventory accuracy across physical locations, ERP systems, and financial reporting.
- Establish site-level controls while maintaining enterprise-wide standards and governance.
- Oversee daily inventory operations including receiving, material issuance, storage, and distribution activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure data integrity across internal and external facilities.
- Provide functional guidance and process leadership to site inventory personnel.
- Develop and improve processes, including SOP creation, workflow optimization, and best-practice implementation.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and report root causes and performance metrics.
- Investigate inventory variances and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies in all inventory operations.
- Partner with Finance to support month-end and year-end inventory close processes, including reconciliation, valuation, reserves, and audit readiness.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances impacting financial reporting and COGS.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, controls, and analysis.
- Ensure inventory practices comply with accounting standards and internal control requirements.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Finance to audit Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy, completeness, and correct usage quantities.
- Analyze material usage variances and identify root causes impacting inventory accuracy and cost.
- Drive corrective actions to improve BOM accuracy, reduce scrap, and support cost control.
- Ensure BOM integrity aligns with ERP data and physical inventory consumption.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Production Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics to support operational performance and material flow.
- Optimize stock levels by partnering with Purchasing to balance supply and demand, preventing shortages and overstock.
- Track and report key metrics including:
- Inventory accuracy
- Inventory valuation accuracy
- Inventory turns
- Usage variance
- BOM accuracy
- Financial vs. physical inventory alignment
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of inventory management experience with strong knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading inventory processes and influencing cross-functional teams (direct reports not required).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and inventory control modules.
This role requires travel to internal and external manufacturing plants and warehouses. Travel may be local, regional, or national and may involve automobile, air, or other transportation methods. All travel must be pre-approved and conducted in accordance with company policy and conducted in compliance with applicable safety and expense guidelines.

$65,000- $80,000 annually - Pay range listed reflects the potential pay for this role. The pay will depend on various factors, such as responsibilities of the position, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Not all positions posted will have a pay range listed.
