Purchasing Assistant

Overview

Immediately hiring a Purchasing Assistant for a large manufacturer on the southside of San Antonio. This role's main focus is supporting procurement and supply chain activities that keep production running smoothly. Pay is $18-$22/hr. based on experience. Shift is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm.

• Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, parts, and supplies needed for production.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) based on requisitions, approvals, and inventory levels.
• Ensure purchase orders are accurate, complete, and aligned with supplier contracts.
• Contact suppliers to obtain quotes, check order status, confirm deliveries, and address discrepancies.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors to support timely deliveries and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers on product specifications, pricing, lead times, and quality requirements.
• Track incoming orders and delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive on time.
• Monitor backorders and expedite urgent parts when needed.
• Support cost-saving initiatives by obtaining competitive quotes and tracking pricing trends.
• Prepare routine reports on purchasing activity, spend analysis, supplier performance, and delivery performance.
• Assist with budget tracking for procurement expenses.

• Seeking at least 2 years experience.
• Ability to create POs.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must have experience using various software for tracking and documenting.
