Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities

With general direction and latitude for initiative and judgment, is responsible for preparing reports and analyses for the Department of Ophthalmology for Administration and Finance as they pertain to the billing data and ad hoc reports. Serves as the primary person to prepare and analyze clinical queries. Work closely with department personnel to understand the purpose of the report, what information is required, ensure that the data is HIPAA compliant, and put the data in an understandable format.

Requires the capability of high-level independent decision making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leads, develops, and implements data reporting methodologies for continuous improvement. Performs comprehensive data analysis and generates reports from both internal and external data sources. Designs, develops, and maintains advanced reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support clinical and research activities within Ophthalmology Collaborates closely with faculty, researchers, administrators, and managers to assess data requirements and deliver customized reporting solutions. Works alongside IT and data management teams to uphold data consistency, security, and integrity across all reporting environments.

Leads and coordinates cross-functional projects focused on data analysis and reporting. Develops and manages reporting systems across multiple data platforms. Partners with administrators and key stakeholders to guarantee the timely delivery of high-quality, reliable department data. Provides in-depth trend analysis, forecasting, and statistical reporting to aid strategic planning and operational decision-making. Identifies and communicates any issues or concerns regarding survey data to the program administrator or key stakeholders.

May mentor lower-level staff and provide guidance on complex reporting tasks and data analysis techniques. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience required Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE,

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail required Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines required Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights required Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) required
