Purpose

The purpose of this position is to assist with routine administrative and clerical tasks in the Blanton Museum of Art’s Finance office. This opportunity will enable a committed and enthusiastic student to learn important career skills related to accounting. This position will report to the Accounting Manager. This position is open to current UT Austin work-study students who meet the required qualifications listed below.

Applicants should expect to work fall and spring semesters during the  academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Process departmental payments and deposits accurately
  • Deliver deposits to campus Bursar’s Office
  • Assist with electronic filing and document organization
  • Perform routine data entry and record maintenance
  • Respond to basic inquiries and direct requests to appropriate staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information
  • Perform other general office duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current UT Austin undergraduate student in good standing enrolled in at least 6 credits during the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters.
  • Must have proof of current participation in the Work-Study program and be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Customer Service oriented
  • Maintain a positive demeanor
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Prior office experience

Salary

$16.00 per hour

Working Conditions

Standard office environment

Work Shift

12-15 hours per week based on availability. Must be able to work a consistent schedule Monday through Friday. Coordination of schedule and classes will be coordinated with supervisor.
