POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Director is a strategic leader responsible for ensuring the company operates with the highest safety standards across all construction activities. This role focuses on fostering a strong culture of safety, mitigating risks, and implementing innovative safety programs that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

YOUR ROLE

• Develop, implement, and continuously enhance a comprehensive safety program tailored to the risks and complexities of civil construction projects.

• Lead company compliance efforts with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.

• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to proactively identify potential hazards and assess risks.

• Design and implement effective strategies and processes to mitigate risks and eliminate workplace hazards.

• Corddinate and deliver safety training programs, including site-specific orientations and ongoing education, to ensure all personnel are equipped with the knowledge to maintain a safe workplace.

• Stay informed of evolving industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to maintain cutting-edge safety practices.

• Lead thorough investigations into incidents, near misses, and accidents, providing detailed analyses and actionable recommendations for corrective measures.

• Oversee the accurate and timely reporting of all safety-related incidents, maintaining compliance with reporting requirements.

• Cultivate a proactive safety culture by promoting accountability, awareness, and engagement at all organizational levels.

• Develop and maintain open communication channels to encourage reporting of safety concerns and the resolution of issues.

• Collaborate with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project planning, execution, and close-out.

• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership on safety-related improvements and investments.

• Serve as the company's primary liaison for safety audits, inspections, and interactions with regulatory agencies.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent credentials are highly preferred.

• Extensive experience in civil construction safety management, with demonstrated success in implementing and leading effective safety programs.

• Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
