The Water/Wastewater Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role. This role oversees daily field operations for water and wastewater construction projects, including planning work activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, and ensuring that schedules and budgets are maintained. The superintendent monitors installation of water distribution systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include conducting site inspections, enforcing safety protocols, resolving field issues, and communicating progress and needs to project managers and stakeholders.
The role also involves mentoring field personnel, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement in construction practices and site performance.
- Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including crew management, task delegation, and on-site leadership.
- Candidates should possess experience in water distribution systems, including installation, maintenance, and quality control.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of pump stations, including mechanical and electrical components and operational requirements.
- Candidates should possess hands‑on experience with water treatment processes and facility construction.
- Candidates should possess practical expertise in wastewater treatment systems, including regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Relevant experience in heavy civil or utility construction, particularly water and wastewater projects.
- Demonstrated commitment to job‑site safety and familiarity with OSHA and industry safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the project region as needed.
