Zachry Construction is seeking a Paving Foreman to lead and manage a crew dedicated to concrete paving operations on heavy civil construction projects. The Paving Foreman is responsible for achieving production goals, tracking material quantities, managing schedules, and ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills to effectively oversee daily operations and crew performance.
WhatYou'll Do
- Plan and supervise daily and weekly paving activities to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and cost reports to track progress and resolve material discrepancies.
- Direct and coordinate concrete paving operations, including setup, operation, and dismantling of paving equipment such as Guntert & Zimmerman and Gomaco machines.
- Ensure proper joint layout, grade control, and concrete yield management to meet project specifications.
- Train, mentor, and supervise crew members on safety procedures, production methods, and equipment operation.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping, equipment logs, and daily production reports.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other teams to ensure efficient job site operations.
- Enforce safety policies through toolbox talks, inspections, and consistent communication.

What We're Looking For- Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on concrete paving operations.
- Proven supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of concrete paving equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Understanding of concrete classes, rebar types, testing procedures, and tolerances.
- Experience with joint layout, concrete yield management, and GPS/robotic survey systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented leader.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions up to 90% of the time.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on uneven terrain.
- Experience with Mobile Timecard or similar systems preferred.
- Must be licensed and approved to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding and walk on uneven surfaces throughout construction sites.
