Responsibilities- Attend safety walks, inspections, and regular onsite meetings as required.
- Educate employees on safety standards, expectations, and safe equipment operation.
- Perform daily visual observations of the jobsite in addition to weekly documented site safety observations.
- Be visible, involved, and accessible to craft personnel onsite while providing coaching and recommendations for safety improvements.
- Understand NTI and Project Owners safety documents, management tools, guidelines, and procedures.
- Interface with foreman and NTI employees daily to ensure safe work practices and PPE requirements are followed.
- Understand and lead Emergency Action Plans for the site.
- Manage incident reporting and analysis for unplanned events onsite.
- Interface with local leadership and NTI Safety Director to ensure a consistent safety approach in the field.
- Review pre-task plans / JHAs to ensure proper completion on a daily basis.
- Oversee regular safety toolbox talks and implement site-specific safety plans and JHAs for high-risk activities.
- Perform daily visual inspections of the jobsite in addition to weekly documented site safety inspections.
- Manage and upload all project safety documentation within the project owner s online portal.
- Perform other project-related safety duties as needed.
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety software.
- Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
- Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST)
- Safety Trained Supervisor - Construction (STSC)
Bachelor s degree or higher in EHS discipline or EHS-related field.
Physical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
