The right candidate will be highly proficient in Primavera P6 and capable of supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on accuracy, reporting, logic development, progress updates, and schedule risk identification.

Overview

The Scheduling Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing detailed project schedules for large-scale heavy civil and transportation projects. This individual will work closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and leadership teams to ensure schedules reflect project realities, contractual requirements, and operational goals.

This role requires someone who can translate field production, procurement, phasing, and resource constraints into practical and defensible schedules for projects ranging from $20 million to $200 million.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage baseline schedules, updates, and recovery schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Build detailed CPM schedules for heavy civil construction projects, including TXDOT highways, bridges, structures, and civil aviation work.
  • Work with project teams to develop schedule logic, durations, milestones, phasing plans, and sequencing strategies.
  • Analyze schedule impacts, critical path changes, delays, and potential risks.
  • Prepare and present schedule reports, narratives, and progress updates for internal teams, owners, and project stakeholders.
  • Support project pursuit and preconstruction efforts with schedule development, phasing plans, and milestone planning.
  • Review subcontractor schedules and incorporate them into master project schedules where required.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to validate production assumptions and maintain accurate progress updates.
  • Assist with claims avoidance and schedule documentation through clear and organized schedule records.
  • Promote schedule best practices and consistency across multiple projects.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of scheduling experience in heavy civil construction; more experience preferred for senior-level candidates.
  • Strong background in one or more of the following:
  • Large TXDOT highway projects
  • Bridge and structural heavy civil construction
  • Civil aviation / airport construction

  • Ability to work closely with field and operations teams to develop realistic and executable schedules.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain schedule strategy, constraints, and impacts to project stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing schedule narratives, fragnet analysis, recovery schedules, and time impact evaluations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with TXDOT specifications, aviation authority coordination, or public infrastructure project requirements is a plus.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation package
  • ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program), giving employees an ownership stake in the company
  • Opportunity to work on high-profile, large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Collaborative team environment with long-term growth potential
