Job Description & How to Apply Below

Bandy Constructors is seeking an experienced commercial construction Project Manager who is first and foremost a builder. This position is not intended for general project managers from other industries. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods who can confidently lead projects from preconstruction through closeout while partnering closely with field operations.

The ideal candidate understands how buildings are constructed—not just how projects are administered. They can review drawings and specifications, identify constructability concerns, coordinate subcontractors, anticipate field challenges, and make sound technical decisions that keep projects moving safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires regular collaboration with Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners. Successful candidates are comfortable walking jobsites, discussing sequencing and installation details, resolving technical issues, and supporting field operations as much as managing contracts, budgets, and documentation.

Organizational Relationships

Reports to:

Director of Project Management

Supervises:
Assistant Project Managers / Project Engineers as assigned

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through all phases of construction, from planning to final close-out.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, owner contingencies, and change orders.
  • Review and approve subcontractor billings, vendor invoices, and client pay applications.
  • Coordinate and maintain all project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change logs, schedules, and close-out documents.
  • Partner with Superintendents to develop and maintain master project schedules and identify potential delays.
  • Lead owner meetings, subcontractor coordination, and project communications.
  • Negotiate subcontract and purchase order changes while supporting procurement activities.
  • Ensure project quality standards and safety requirements are consistently met.
  • Resolve project issues proactively while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
  • Mentor, develop, and evaluate project team members while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.

Experience

  • 5+ years of Demonstrated experience managing commercial construction projects.
  • Managed projects greater than $10M in value or multiple projects with a combined value of greater than $15M
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project controls, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and legal contract documents.
  • Proven leadership, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience managing subcontractor scopes, change orders, and owner relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Education

  • B.S. / B.A. in construction related discipline or equivelent combination of technical training and relevant construction project management experience
