Senior Estimator

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team. This individual will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive project estimates for large-scale mechanical construction projects, with a primary focus on plumbing, Sheet metal, and piping.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented estimating professional with strong mechanical construction expertise, advanced takeoff capabilities, and experience using industry-standard estimating software, particularly On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Trimble platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems.
• Develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate with project managers, operations teams, vendors, and subcontractors throughout the bidding process.
• Analyze project risks, opportunities, and scope gaps to ensure accurate pricing.
• Participate in bid reviews and proposal development.
• Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases.
• Support preconstruction efforts and provide value engineering recommendations when appropriate.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience within the mechanical construction industry.
• Experience utilizing On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, and construction means and methods.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
