POSITION

SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer is a full-time position that supports the Witte Museum’s visual storytelling across marketing, visitor experience, exhibitions, development and internal communications. Reporting to the Art Director, this role contributes to the creation of compelling, brand-aligned design across print, digital and environmental media.

Working collaboratively with teams across the museum, the Graphic Designer translates ideas and institutional goals into clear, engaging visual communication. This position plays a key role in shaping how audiences encounter the Witte through cohesive, thoughtful and visually strong design that supports the museum’s mission and visitor experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and produce print and digital materials in support of marketing campaigns, exhibitions, programs, events, membership, development and internal communications.
  • Develop layouts and visual assets for a wide range of applications, including signage, advertisements, email graphics, social media, presentation decks and promotional materials.
  • Adapt and extend existing designs across formats and platforms while maintaining visual consistency.
  • Work closely with the Art Director to execute creative concepts and maintain brand standards.
  • Collaborate with internal team members across departments to understand project goals and deliver thoughtful design solutions.
  • Participate in creative reviews and incorporate feedback with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Support project timelines by managing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare design files for print and digital use.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of the Creative team and museum priorities.
EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in graphic design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop;
    After Effects a plus.
  • Understanding of branding, identity systems, and brand consistency
  • Strong foundational skills in typography, layout, color and visual hierarchy.
  • Understanding of basic production processes for print and digital outputs.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles
  • Ability to receive direction, incorporate feedback and work collaboratively.
  • Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Enthusiastic, curious and motivated to grow as a designer within a team environment.
  • Interest in museums, cultural institutions or public-facing storytelling is strongly preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Regular use of a computer and standard office productivity tools.
  • Ability to sit, stand and move throughout the museum campus as needed.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends in support of exhibitions, events or deadlines.
