- Write long-form financial education articles and consumer-focused financial content.
- Produce authoritative financial news and editorial content for a general audience.
- Research topics thoroughly, use credible primary sources, and incorporate subject-matter expertise.
- Translate complex topics such as retirement, investing, insurance, taxes, saving, and financial planning into clear language.
- Distinguish factual information, expert perspectives, and marketing claims.
- Apply AP style consistently across all content.
- Develop a credible author perspective and bio to support visibility and reader trust.
- Collaborate with editors, strategists, and other team members to meet editorial and client standards.
- Experience as a personal-finance journalist or editorial writer, preferably for established publishers.
- Demonstrated experience writing long-form, educational financial content.
- Strong reporting, research, interviewing, sourcing, and fact-checking skills.
- Subject-matter experience in personal finance, wealth, investing, retirement, insurance, banking, taxes, or related areas.
- Ability to explain financial concepts clearly and credibly to general audiences.
- Proficiency in AP style standards.
- Credible author bio and byline history.
- Rigorous, detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to accuracy and editorial integrity.
- US-based and available to work Eastern Time hours.
- Available ASAP through December 23, 2026, for 40 hours per week.
- Remote US-based work arrangement.
- Expected weekly compensation of $2,600–$3,000.
- Freelance engagement running ASAP through December 23, 2026.
