This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Membership Representative maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Prefer a minimum of 6 months customer service, sales, or related experience.
- Certifications required within the first week of hire:
Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Communications. - Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: YMCA approved basic life saving skills such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must be able to word process at 45 wpm and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must become proficient within 30 days in the use of Active Net.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment.
- Regular use of computer for extended periods of time and ability to communicate via computer and phone/smart device.
- Visual acuity for reading screens and documents; ability to make changes as necessary.
- Analytical abilities and multitasking to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Job requires accuracy, attention to detail, organizational and time management skills; ability to work within deadlines.
- Occasional stooping and bending with regular lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and use keyboards, phone keypads, and writing utensils.
- Uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
