Position: Dentist (General Practice) - EDRP Authorized

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200
-000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Duties
  • As the Staff Dentist position you will be assigned to the General Practice Section - which is responsible for the diagnosis - management and treatment of oral/dental disease
  • This includes treatment planning - restorative dentistry and dental procedures generally considered within the purview of the general practitioner commensurate with their level of training
  • The responsibilities of the position include overall administrative and clinical responsibility for all aspects of the Staff Dentist's dental clinic(s)
  • The Dental Service Administrative Officer and other members of the Dental Service will provide support as needed
  • You will work with the Dental Hygienists - Dental Assistants and Dental Lab Technicians - and Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residents (AEGD) assigned to the Dental Service
  • You will coordinate assignment of responsibilities commensurate with the responsibilities expected of these individuals to maintain efficient clinic operations
  • You will perform all phases of dentistry including but not limited to restorative dentistry - fixed and removable prosthodontics - periodontics - endodontics (nickel-titanium rotary instruments) - CAD/CAM digital dentistry - and oral surgery
  • In addition - you will treatment planning dental implants - restore osseointegrated implants - design implant radiographic and surgical guides as well as read cone beam x-rays for treatment planning
  • Assessing - diagnosing and providing treatment and post-treatment care in all the above areas
  • You will provide oversight for community care consults of patients that are assigned to you - and respond to Message Manager and Secure Messages from your paneled patients
