Dental Assistant - Oral Surgery

Overview

Castle Dental, supported by Smile Brands, is seeking an experienced Travel Oral Surgery Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support our specialty dental teams throughout the San Antonio area.

This is a traveling position, with work locations varying based on the needs of our practices. The successful candidate will be comfortable traveling between Castle Dental locations and working with different providers and teams.

We are looking for an experienced RDA with Oral Surgery experience who can quickly adapt to different practice environments and provide excellent clinical support to our specialty providers and patients.

Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri

• Provide chairside assistance to oral surgeons during surgical and specialty procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for oral surgery procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation and positioning before, during, and after procedures.
• Support providers during surgical procedures while maintaining excellent patient care.
• Obtain and document patient information and clinical history as appropriate.
• Take and develop dental radiographs as permitted by applicable requirements.
• Maintain proper infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
• Provide patients with appropriate post-operative instructions as directed by the provider.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
• Work collaboratively with dentists, oral surgeons, dental assistants, and front-office team members.
• Adapt to different office locations, providers, schedules, and workflows.
• Travel between Castle Dental locations throughout the San Antonio area based on business‑needs.
• Provide a positive, professional, and compassionate patient experience.

• Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential required.
• Previous dental assisting experience required.
• Oral Surgery experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with surgical procedures and specialty dentistry preferred.
• Periodontics, Endodontics, or Orthodontics experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with different providers and dental teams.
• Highly adaptable, dependable, and comfortable working in multiple locations.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the San Antonio area.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate is a confident, experienced RDA who enjoys variety and is comfortable stepping into different offices and supporting specialty providers. You should be able to quickly learn each location’s workflow, work well with different teams, and provide excellent clinical and patient support.

Work locations and daily needs may vary based on practice and provider schedules. This role requires the ability to travel between Castle Dental locations throughout the San Antonio area.

$21-$25/hour
