Qualifications

Required:

* Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required

* Special Education Teachers:
Hold an active Special Education K-12 and core content certificate

* Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience

* Can pass a criminal background check

Your Mission

Your Responsibilities

Planning

* Directs, monitors, and mentors teacher fellows working with students who have disabilities.

* Performs a variety of assessments and observations to determine the areas in which the student may need extra or modified educational services.

* Assessment areas may include academic performance, behavior, social development, or physical health.

* Identifies students' needs and develops related lessons and teaching plans.

* Develops an integrated plan for the education of each child by collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, psychologists, social workers, and other medical and school staff.

* Develops individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student, setting learning goals and adopting modifications as necessary; ensure each student's activities and lessons are planned and organized according to his/her abilities.
