Job Description:
The English, Mass Communication, Drama, and Visual and New Media Arts Department at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio seeks an Adjunct Instructor of Professional and Technical Writing beginning Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 to teach one-to-two face-to-face or online courses per semester.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing and presenting course content under the direction of the Department Chair; maintaining availability to students during the week (at least one hour per week); and participating in ongoing faculty development, which includes the completion of Blackboard Ultra workshops and training.
The course(s) to be taught face-to-face and asynchronous online, contingent upon semester:
ENGL 1314 - Composition II Writing in the Discipline (WID) Courses specializing in STEM, Business, Psychology, and Social Work
ENGL 3314 - Fundamentals of Professional and Technical Writing
ENGL 3333 - Grant Writing
ENGL 3337 - Writing for the Web (AKA, Basic Coding)
ENGL 3341 - Advanced Grant Writing
ENGL 3345 - Technical Editing and Writing
ENGL 3349 - Written Business Communications
ENGL 3350 - Professional and Technical Writing Capstone
ENGL 3351 - Sports Writing
ENGL 3351 - Legal Writing
ENGL 3371 - Writing in STEM
Other courses to be created for the BA in Professional Writing and Communication
Requirements:
Requirements:
MA in English or related field required;
PhD preferred.
MA or MA in Technical Communication preferred.
A history of teaching technical and professional communication.
