Lecturer of Mathematics

The Department of Computational, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) seeks applications from qualified candidates, with a passion for teaching, for a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer position in mathematics. Appointment can begin in Fall 2026.  The specialization is open. Excellence in teaching at all levels of the curriculum, and ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues on improving success rates in entry-level mathematics courses is expected.

Contribution to improving student success in entry level mathematics courses is a high priority for the institution. The base teaching load at A&M-SA for lecturers is 5/5; reassigned time for service is possible. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed. Service to the department, college, university, and the community is dependent on teaching load. This is a position that requires teaching in person on campus, though a few courses may be taught online.
* A Master’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. All areas will be considered.
* A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics.
* Evidence of potential for improving student success in entry level mathematics courses.
* Excellent teaching and communication skills.
* Engagement with teaching Mathematics.
* Experience with improving student success in entry level Mathematics courses.
* Evidence of excellence in mathematics teaching at the university level, commensurate with the rank of Lecturer.
