Position Summary
St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking a regular, full-time Spanish Dual Language Teacher starting spring 2026. This position requires strong oral and written proficiency in Spanish. All teachers are expected to teach within the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity;

Scholarship; and Holistic Education. The Spanish Dual Language Teacher reports to the School Principal.

Job Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the curriculum.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Present subject matter in the target language according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies and administrative regulations.
- Work cooperatively with administrators, department chairs, and other staff as needed to meet curriculum objectives.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Serve as an advisor to 15-20 students.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Assist in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
- Establish and maintain open communication through conferences with parents, students, principal and teachers.
- Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Attend after school faculty meetings, evening parent meetings, weekly community liturgies, class retreats and open houses as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates strong oral and written proficiency both in English and the Spanish language.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the socio-cultural perspectives of peoples and countries of the Spanish language.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices for classroom management.
- Knowledge of and ability to differentiate instruction and apply academic accommodations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the Spanish language by providing clear, concise instruction using academic language.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technology skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Required Education Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university.
Required Work Experience One (1) year experience teaching students at the high school level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Native or near-native Spanish speaker.
- Previous high school teaching experience.
- Specialization in social studies or theology/religious studies.
- Bilingual teacher certification.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
The Archdiocese of San Antonio requires non-certified teachers to have 12 college credit hours of education. Faculty hired without the 12 college credit hours are placed on a deficiency plan and must obtain the 12 hours within two (2) years.
Work Hours Mon to Fri 7:30 am-4:00 pm (see faculty handbook) Some night and weekend work dependent on student activity sponsorship and special events such as Open House.
